Since 2004, at least 50 deaths have been reported in women taking Yaz or Yasmin. Some of these women were as young as 17. In December of last year, two Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory committees recommended that the drugs carry stronger warnings about the risks of potentially life-threatening blood clots.
A key ingredient in these drugs can raise blood potassium levels and cause:
· Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
· Pulmonary Embolism
· Venous Thromboembolism (VTE)
· Death
