HOW LONG AFTER AN WORK-RELATED ACCIDENT DO I HAVE TO REPORT THE INJURY TO MY EMPLOYER IN ALABAMA?

Alabama law states that an injured worker must tell their employer about an on the job accident within five (5) days of the accident occurring. This is called verbal notice. The injured worker also has ninety (90) days from the date of the accident to provide written to the employer of the accident. It is best to immediately notify the employer of an on the job accident and if injured or hurt to request medical treatment.
